NPR’s ALT Latino played and reviewed Bondi Blaster’s “Alta Farra”, great review, check it out:

It’s been exactly a month since the release of Bondi BLaster’s debut EP ¡Lo’ Juimo! on Stronghold Sound and I wanted to take the opportunity to all the people that took their time to write about it, play it on their podcasts, radio shows or DJ sets or simply listen to it.
Here are some of the things people had been saying:
“The result is a party-like atmosphere that is void of sleepy, folk tunes. Instead, Bondi Blaster knows how to entice a danceable spirit and youthful exuberance in the listener with foot-stomping and hip-shaking rhythms and melodies.(…) Anyone interested in South American cumbia, hip-hop, rap, dance, electronica, and funky, good music will find satisfaction in Bondi Blaster’s latest hit, Lo’ Juimo!” Matthew Forss - Inside World Music
“ this is south of the border wackiness that shows pushing the envelope to be a global phenomenon. Younger tastes with a Latin/Hispanic bent will appreciate this sound of the city of tomorrow.” Midwestrecord.com
“Cumbia Nena” locks into a groove and maintains a steady, bass-heavy electro-cumbia pace throughout. The MCs drop their verses en español with playful attitude and swagger. Keep the cumbia coming strong! ” Afropop Worldwide
“Data presents the crux of this battle between the kitsch and the culturally elite influences as the context — the prelude to his premier album. Frankly, he puts the debate at the forefront of his proposition. His music says, “Look y’all, this is who we are, like it or not.” And, you’re either okay with it, or you move on. An effective and contemporary dynamic takes place, reflecting the juxtaposing rhythms and social circles, that many of today’s dynamic artists find themselves traversing. If you understood anything I just said, that means you’ll appreciate this album.” José Benavides - Remezcla.com
“Really shitty garbage design. The two-tone garbage aesthetic is fine, but it’s so low-tec it’s painful” said this wevsite with impressive design qualities http://www.muzikifan.com/
“ I’m really looking forward to this EP release. Actually I’m lying because one of the perks of being a blogger is I get a lot of EP’s early so I can listen to them long before their release. This one delivers trust me!” Generation Bass
“This fine EP is just a taste of what Bondi Blaster has to offer. Juan Data’s witchdoctor approach is evident all over this release. The duo expand upon the cumbia sound and their cumbia linyera is a refreshing reminder of the depth that cumbia has to offer when it isn’t commercially restrained. ” Splinters & Candy
“After watching/hearing the music video for “Alta Farra,” you’ll probably have your mouth wide opened like you were saying “ahh.” And maybe that’s the subtle intention behind the pervy mind of DJ Juan Data when writing this linguistically-challenging tune.” Isabela Raygoza - Remezcla
“‘Alta Farra’ is an outstanding mix with a strong ethnic vibe. Featuring funky, downtempo beats, a solid bassline and enchanting panflute melodies of indigenous Andean music over the mono-vowel rapping of DJ Juan Data himself is probably the most enjoyable musical juggling in this EP together with ‘Boliguay Express’.” Freegan Kolektiva
“He has continued to feature cumbia heavily on his blog after most bandwagon blogs have left cumbia behind for the next newkuduroton fad.” Soul Cocina
“What would happen if you get one of the most wicked Latino Djs living in the US, and give him a bunch of talented producers, to remix his creations?” Tropical Bass
“DJ Juan Data es un caso de esos geeks que se vuelven bien cool, se quedan con la chica y viajan por el mundo haciendo rap con mucho éxito.” Panamerika.FM
“The man behind Bondi Blaster is DJ Juan Data, who besides being a great producer is also a provocative writer/blogger who helms the Hard Data blog. Now add video director to his resume, is there anything he can’t do well? I’m a believer.” Global Noize
“ just so you know, Juan Data is his real fucking name, most people can’t even make up shit that cool. But Juan is not most people, his take on nu-cumbia is not through the lens of some trendoid hipster who was listening to it for five minutes and making a mashup record before moving on to kuduro and moombahcore next month.” Loose Ethics
“Juan Data is everywhere!” Chronicles of Azu
“Data comparte su lado bullanguero/guapachoso, al que incorpora el lenguaje del hip-hop, un género musical que desde joven siguió muy de cerca.” La Banda Elástica
“ the record is a diverse effort that never stops moving.” The Pop Stereo Review Roundup
“Juan Data is one of those inventors who like to be hard on themselves. We know that because he sings an entire four-minute eleven-second track without using any vowel except A.” PopMatters
“The stand-out track on Lo’ Juimo! Is, without question, “Alta Farra” It’s infectious and that’s probably because you’ll try to figure out what Bondi Blaster is saying while playing it over and over again like I did.” Sounds and Colours
Thank you all, once again, and if you still haven’t listen to it, Bondi Blaster’s Lo Juimo! is currently available on all digital music vendors including iTunes, Amazon, emusic, CDBaby, Spotify and more…
